DESSERTS 4.50 each
Home made desserts. All of our desserts are home-made from scratch. Making
ice creams and desserts are time consuming and we can only make small batches
at a time. That's why we sometimes have to apologize that our desserts
are temporarily sold out. We use only wholesome ingredients and the Japanese
recipe uses less cream and sugar compared to many dessert menus here. The
ice cream may be less creamy to the ones you are used to because of this.

Matcha Ice Cream
Green Tea ice cream. This green tea is not the same as the ones you drink
with your meal. Matcha is a powder form of green tea called ten-cha. It
is used in Japanese tea ceremonies and they cost much more than regular
green tea! It has a darker green colour and has a bit of bitter taste.
Matcha has become very popular in Japan to be used in desserts and confectioneries. |
Kurogoma Ice Cream
Black sesame ice cream. Black sesame is slowly hand roasted and grounded
until creamy. Enjoy the freshly roasted flavour! |
Adzuki Ice Cream
Sweet Red-bean ice cream. Red beans are slowly cooked with sugar and water
only and made into a thick paste called "anko," a sweet paste
that is essential to Japanese sweets. |
Pu-rin
Home-made Japanese style custard pudding with vanilla beans and caramel
sauce. Pu-rin comes from the English word "pudding." When this
is pronounced in Japanese, it sounds like pu-rin. Now an all time favourite
dessert for young and old Japanese was probably first imported from Europe.
To make this Japanese style pudding, we use only milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla
beans, and a hint of Rhum and this is slowly steam-baked in the oven. The
pudding is turned upside down before serving to give it a look like our
Mt. Fuji. Enjoy!! Served with whipped cream and seasonal fruit. |
